If you're an entrepreneur that's just getting started, or maybe looking for a change, often times you come across a concept known as the "entrepreneurial mindset".

Now, if you already know what this is, then this blog may just be a refresher.

In that case, we urge you to head over to our YouTube channel, because we have a video about our take there.

If this is your first time hearing about it, or maybe you're just not too sure what it really is, then.... well, we still suggest watching the video because it breaks it down well.

THEN come back here and let us know your thoughts.

What is the Entrepreneurial Mindset?

If you look online, the entrepreneurial mindset is often defined as a way of thinking (clearly), a set of skills, values, beliefs, and thought processes possessed by entrepreneurs that help them be successful in business ownership and future proof their success in business.

You can think of this mindset as your insurance policy as an entrepreneur. Something you can always lean on and come back to always be headed in the right direction.

While we absolutely agree with this, we've also taken a bit of a spin on it, and created our own definition of the entrepreneurial mindset that better suits our clients and team.

How we Future Proof our Client's Success

So, what is the ASC Entrepreneurial mindset?

"The pursuit of positive and resilient thinking in a way that expands the boundaries of your comfort zone in a small way each and every day that allows yourself to thinking in a way that lets you find solutions where others don't without compromising your mental, emotional, and physical health"

Yes, it's a long definition when you compare it to "a way of thinking".

Let's break that down.

How is the ASC Entrepreneurial Mindset Different?

What makes our definition different?

Well, it's because we understand that entrepreneurs, just the rest of humanity, are human.

That means that constantly operating outside of your comfort zone, having that 24/7 hustle, and working yourself into the ground will lead to burnout.

So, our entrepreneurial mindset is still focused on a way of thinking that allows you to remain resilient and believe in yourself, as well as think outside the box to develop creative solutions for your business.

However, if you've ever read Atomic Habits, you'll find this concept familiar.

For most of our clients, we suggest reading atomic habits, because it gives great insight into how you can apply and use the ASC Entrepreneurial Mindset with lots of practical exercises and tools.

If you're able to expand the boundaries of your comfort zone by learning, developing new skills, doing what makes you uncomfortable, and growing your business one day at a time, we have found this to be a repeatable, sustainable, and successful method of growth in entrepreneurship.

How to use the ASC Entrepreneurial Mindset

Okay, so how do you practically apply this?

Again, if you want examples not from us, read Atomic Habits.

However, here's our tips on how to build your entrepreneurial mindset:

  • Don't feel like you have to constantly operate outside your comfort zone. This often is where the magic happens!

  • Do some very small activity every day that helps you grow, or that makes you uncomfortable.

  • Do something to grow or elevate your business every day. Whether that's learning something new, or simply taking action.

    • Our owner, Chris, has an ongoing list of YouTube Videos that he watches in his spare time to always learn new things in business, new industries, or simply to learn a new perspective.

  • Read (or listen to audiobooks) daily.

  • Focus on your strengths, while gradually working on improving your weaknesses.

  • Do things that make you happy, and frame your business in a positive light. Resilience and positivity is our number one deterrent for burnout.

  • Stay active! Whether it's a walk, workout, yoga, bike, swim, climb, golf, you name it... Staying active is a great way to maintain mental and physical health.
